Umaizushi, nestled in Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, presents an intriguing option for travelers seeking quality sushi and poke. Despite its airport location, many patrons find the experience surprisingly pleasant. Customer David Burman highlights the friendly service and the convenience of charging plugs at the counter, making it an ideal spot to relax before a flight.
The menu features standout items such as the Tuna Poke ($16.99) and the Rainbow specialty roll ($16.95), which receive commendations for their vibrant flavors. The Kunsei Sake nigiri ($7.45) and Maguro ($8.25) also showcase the restaurant’s commitment to delivering fresh seafood, even in a travel setting. While the poke bowl may not satisfy a hearty appetite by itself, it serves to whet the palate, perfectly complemented by a refreshing seaweed salad.
Overall, Umaizushi exceeds the typical expectations of airport dining. It offers a unique blend of convenience and quality that elevates the travel experience, ensuring you leave with a smile, even as you await your next departure.

Reviews for Umaizushi
Review highlights
Based on 94 reviewsUmaizushi, located in Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, generally receives mixed reviews typical of airport dining experiences. Patrons appreciate the convenient seating equipped with charging outlets, which adds a practical benefit for travelers. The food offerings, such as poke bowls and seaweed salads, are considered decent but often viewed as light and sufficient mainly for a quick snack rather than a full meal. Service is noted to be friendly, though wait times can be longer than expected. Overall, Umaizushi strikes a balance between accessibility and quality, catering well to those seeking a modest, convenient meal while navigating airport schedules.
It’s definitely airport food but it wasn’t terrible. I’ve had worse from a grocery store. The server was very nice but it does take a while. They do have plugs on the counter for charging which is a perk while you’re waiting for flights. The Poke bowl was just enough to tide me over but I wouldn’t call it enough for a meal on its own. The seaweed salad was good though.
